- An apparent promotional video for the Asus Zenfone 9 has surfaced before its unveiling.
- It looks like the phone will be a compact device with major internal parts and an upgraded camera system.
We’ve seen some supposed leaks of the Asus Zenfone 9 in the past few months, but reliable details have been few and far between. Now, an Asus Zenfone 9 promotional video has been leaked online, apparently revealing the design of the device and the most prominent specifications.
A promotional video for the device was shared on Asus Zenfone Forum Facebook page, but has since been deleted. Fortunately, the video has been reposted on YouTube, while screenshots of the video have also been posted slash lex. Check out the video below.
Photos and videos show a phone that’s compact with a 5.9-inch screen, which appears to be in line with the Zenfone 8’s form factor. Other obvious design options include a vertically stacked rear camera system (with lenses that look large for the device itself), flat bezels, and a 3.5mm port on top , rated IP68.
Other supposed Zenfone 9 details gleaned from the video include a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, a 4,300mAh battery, 120Hz refresh rate, dual stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In fact, Asus will apparently allow you to slide the power button/fingerprint scanner to scroll through pages.
The phone may also be one to watch for photography and video enthusiasts, as it is said to feature a 50MP IMX766 primary camera along with a 6-axis gimbal stabilization. There’s no word on the secondary rear camera, but we’re guessing it’s an ultra-wide lens. Either way, having a more effective stabilization can make this device ideal for video recording.
We haven’t heard of any solid rumors regarding pricing and availability yet, but we hope the Zenfone 9 will have the same competitive $629 price tag as the previous phone. It would also be great if the company could release this phone in time, as the older device only arrived in India in February 2022.
