- Some Nothing Phone 1 users are noticing green tint and dead pixels on their phone screen.
- A replacement unit sent to a user also had an issue with screen tinting.
- The best bet for people looking for a solution is to contact the company’s support services.
The newly launched Nothing Phone 1 seems to be experiencing some teething issues. Early buyers are reporting issues with the phone screen, specifically the green color issue and dead pixels around the selfie camera.
A Twitter user who bought Nothing Phone 1 in India from Flipkart noticed a green color on the phone screen. A replacement unit sent to the person had the same problem as well.
Other complaints on Twitter and reddit Read similarly, as users see a green tinge on certain sections of the Phone 1 panel.
Meanwhile, people in the news outlet Beebom I reported seeing dead pixels near the retail unit selfie shooter Nothing Phone 1 within three hours of using the phone. The issue was also reported by another Twitter user.
We received the Indian Retail Unit Nothing phone (1) this morning. And just three hours later, we see dead pixels around our unit’s selfie camera. disappointing!!
Nothing Support acknowledged the problems on Twitter. However, there is no official word on why display issues occur, if they are hardware related, or if they need a simple software repair. We also don’t know if the issues are widespread because Nothing Phone 1 hasn’t actually been around for a long time. For what it’s worth, we are in Android salad No differences in presentation were observed during the review process.
Green display issues are not unique to Nothing Phone 1. We’ve seen it occur on many devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 8 Pro, and more. Phones with OLED panels are prone to screen coloration issues. We’ve seen manufacturers fix it with software updates in the past. Hopefully nothing will do the same or replace problem devices. We will update this post if we hear more on this topic.
