  • Samsung has started rolling out the August 2022 security updates in parts of Europe.
  • The Galaxy S20, S20, and S22 phones are the first to receive the updates.
  • More markets will receive the correction over the coming days and weeks.

Samsung continues to deliver on its promises when it comes to timely updates. As of this writing, it was only July 29, but that hasn’t stopped Samsung from starting to roll out the August 2022 security updates early. according to Android Police The update has hit the lucky owners of Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S22 phones in Germany. Other markets will likely get the same updates soon.

According to the changelog, there doesn’t appear to be any new features or improvements in this update. It’s mostly to improve phone security, along with the vague phrase, “The overall stability of functionality has been improved.”

Depending on your wireless carrier’s schedule, it may be a few weeks before an OTA update is available for every smartphone currently supported by Samsung. If you think the update is available in your area, just click on File Settings app on your Samsung phone, then select system updateand finally, click File Download and install Selection. If an update is available, it should download quickly. If not, you can simply wait for your carrier to send a notification to your phone saying that the update is ready.

It’s great to see Samsung acting proactively with updates, even beating Google from time to time. After all, this is the gold standard that we really like to see from all the Android phone makers.
