What you need to know

  • YouTube enables repeat chapters for videos.
  • Find your way to the “Chapter List” of the video and click or tap the episode button for an individual chapter.
  • It also appears that YouTube is testing a new user interface design for mobile users.

It looks like YouTube is slowly rolling out the next expansion of the repeat feature. The video platform has a new way for users to repeat certain chapters of the video.

YouTube has had web watchers looping videos for a long time and passing them on to Android viewers (Opens in a new tab) Just one year ago. With video chapters included (Opens in a new tab)YouTube is looking to expand its support for viewers on mobile and desktop platforms. New update, spotted it Android Police (Opens in a new tab), allows viewers to repeat a chapter in the video they are watching. It’s a lot like the comprehensive video repeat function where, once it’s finished, it will repeat. This new chapter episodes feature allows you to keep watching or listening to your favorite part of the video.

If you find a video with chapters that you enjoy, expand the description box for the video and click or tap View all for chapters. This will open the list of chapters, and you will see a repeat icon for each chapter. If you are currently watching a chapter of a video, once the clip is finished, it should repeat itself. If you’re looking to put a different chapter on a repeat, clicking the repeat icon will take that chapter to watch it in an episode.

According to Android Police, YouTube has also started testing a new interface design for mobile app users. It may seem as though YouTube is looking to rid users of the way the interface is now looking for a more “rounded design”. It looks like a new design is coming for the standard video buttons like thumbs up and like down and also for the comments section.

The best YouTube experience on some of the best Android phones is a welcome sight. With recent updates like the new connectivity experience for smart TVs, the video platform seems to be trying to improve the viewing experience by giving us a little bit of action while kicking and relaxing.
